The film follows Claudia Larson, a single mother who has just been fired from her job and has to spend Thanksgiving with her dysfunctional family in Baltimore. She has to deal with her parents’ quirks, her siblings’ conflicts, her aunt’s dementia, and her own romantic troubles. Along the way, she finds support from her brother’s friend Leo, who becomes a potential love interest.
“Planes, Trains and Automobiles” is a comedy film directed by John Hughes. The story follows the misadventures of two very different men, Neal Page (Steve Martin) and Del Griffith (John Candy), as they struggle to get home for Thanksgiving. “Jack and Jill” stars Adam Sandler in dual roles as both Jack Sadelstein and his twin sister, Jill Sadelstein. The story revolves around Jack, an advertising executive in Los Angeles, who dreads the annual Thanksgiving visit of his twin sister, Jill. Jill is loud, obnoxious, and annoying, causing Jack considerable stress every time she comes to town. Despite his reluctance, Jack agrees to host Jill for Thanksgiving.
By the producers of “Get Out”, “The Oath” is set in an alternate version of America where citizens are required to sign a loyalty oath to the government on the day after Thanksgiving. The story follows Chris (Ike Barinholtz) and his wife Kai (Tiffany Haddish), who are preparing to host Chris’s family for Thanksgiving dinner. However, tensions rise as political discussions turn heated. In this dystopian version of America, citizens are divided along political lines, and the government is cracking down on those who refuse to sign the loyalty oath, leading to arrests and violence.
“Son in Law” follows the story of Crawl (Pauly Shore), a laid back and eccentric college student who befriends a small town girl named Rebecca Warner (Carla Gugino) during their freshman year at college. When Thanksgiving break arrives, Rebecca invites Crawl to her rural South Dakota hometown to spend the holiday with her family. Crawl, who has a reputation for being a quirky California “dude,” shocks Rebecca’s conservative and traditional family with his unconventional behavior and strange antics.
“The Turkey Bowl” is a 2019 sports comedy film that follows the story of Patrick “The Cannon” Murray (Ryan Hansen), a former high school football star who returns to his small hometown in Ohio for Thanksgiving. During his visit, Patrick reconnects with old friends and rivals, and a rivalry between his high school team and their cross town rivals is reignited. They decide to settle their differences on the football field by organizing a game known as “The Turkey Bowl.” Patrick becomes the coach of his former team, and they embark on a journey to train and compete against their rivals.
“The House of Yes” revolves around Marty Pascal (Josh Hamilton), who returns to his family’s mansion in Virginia for Thanksgiving. His twin sister, Jackie-O (Parker Posey), is mentally unstable and obsessed with Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, often dressing like her. As Marty reunites with his family, he introduces them to his girlfriend, Lesly (Tori Spelling). Tensions rise as Jackie-O becomes increasingly unhinged and jealous, leading to a series of bizarre and disturbing events over the course of the Thanksgiving weekend.

In a chance encounter at a mall, they decide to become each other’s “holidate”, platonic companions who accompany each other to various holiday events throughout the year, such as Thanksgiving dinners, weddings, and New Year’s Eve parties.
“Friendsgiving” is about a Thanksgiving celebration of two best friends, Abby (Kat Dennings) and Molly (Malin Åkerman), who decide to host a non traditional Thanksgiving dinner together. As Thanksgiving approaches, Abby and Molly, both dealing with recent breakups, plan to spend the holiday alone. However, they decide to come together for a “Friendsgiving” dinner instead, inviting a motley crew of friends and acquaintances to join them. The guest list includes a variety of eccentric characters, each with their own quirks and issues.
